Great, quiet, reliable 2 months in, easy installation
By Lawyer Dude
HVAC guys wanted $1000 to install this. I just had to replace an old one. With the help of their great customer support, I was able to slide this one right in. Been in for about 2 months in a studio apartment I rent out. Tenant is happy with it.

Quiet and effecient.

We replaced a GE AZ41H12DAB 11,800 BTU Unit and I was concerned with GE's durability since that unit was only about 5 years old. However the condenser fan had broken on that unit and while performing that simple repair I decided to clean up the base plate and repaint it and most likely caused a slow leak in the refrigerant system because it worked well for a short period before quitting again. With that unit using the older refrigerant that is getting costly to buy and the cost of diagnosis and repair I decided to replace it and worry about fixing it later so I will have a spare unit. Some research led me to stick with GE because of their reputation for durability and that they are one of the quietest and the most efficient PTACs made.

Slid the old one out, slid this one in, hooked up the external programmable digital thermostat, plugged it in and it works like a charm. The 15K BTU runs for much shorter periods than the older 12K BTU unit and the best thing is that it is much quieter than the old unit. It is the quietest PTAC I have ever heard.

Works nicely!

Seems to be a quiet machine and hoping that it will be a little better energy efficient than the other one I have.
